Scripture: “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” – Matthew 5:44

Devotional:
Loving our enemies is one of the most radical teachings of Jesus. It goes against human nature, which often seeks revenge or justice. Yet, this command reflects the very heart of the gospel—God’s love for us even when we were His enemies (Romans 5:8).

When we love those who hurt us, we demonstrate the transformative power of God’s grace. This love isn’t about condoning wrongdoing but choosing forgiveness, compassion, and prayer over bitterness.

Illustration:
A gardener waters a plant even when it appears lifeless, trusting that growth will come in time. Similarly, loving our enemies may not yield immediate results, but it plants seeds of grace that God can nurture.

Challenge:
Identify someone who has wronged you. Pray for them daily this week, asking God to bless them and give you a heart of forgiveness.
