The Wise Builder

Scripture: “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.” – Matthew 7:24

Devotional:
Jesus compares those who hear and obey His words to a wise builder who constructs his house on a solid foundation. When storms come, the house stands firm because it is anchored on the rock. This parable illustrates the importance of not only knowing God’s Word but living it out.

Building on the rock means aligning every aspect of our lives with Christ’s teachings. It is a commitment to trust and obey Him, even when challenges arise. The storms of life will come, but a life built on Jesus will endure.

An architect who prioritizes a strong foundation ensures a building’s stability. Without it, even the most beautiful structure will collapse. In the same way, our lives must be grounded in Christ to withstand trials and uncertainties.

Reflect on whether your life is built on the foundation of Christ. Identify one specific area where you can put His teachings into practice this week, such as forgiveness, generosity, or trust.
