Scripture: “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” – Matthew 11:29
Devotional:
Jesus invites us to take His yoke—a symbol of partnership and guidance. Unlike the heavy yokes of this world, His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. When we align ourselves with Him, He teaches us His ways, leading us to rest and purpose.
Taking His yoke means surrendering control and walking in step with Him. It requires humility and trust, recognizing that His plans are better than ours. As we follow Him, we find that His strength sustains us and His love transforms us.
Illustration:
Two oxen yoked together share the load, making the work easier. When one is stronger, it takes on more of the weight. In the same way, when we are yoked with Jesus, He carries the heaviest burdens, guiding us with His strength and love.
Challenge:
Spend time in prayer this week, asking Jesus to teach you His ways. Reflect on areas where you need to surrender control and trust Him to guide you.
