Scripture: “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” – Mark 4:39
Devotional:
In the midst of a storm that terrified His disciples, Jesus spoke three simple words: “Peace, be still.” His authority over the wind and waves revealed His divine power and reminded the disciples that nothing is beyond His control. This moment teaches us that even when life’s storms rage, Jesus is with us, offering peace that surpasses understanding.
Trusting Jesus in the storm doesn’t mean the challenges will disappear instantly, but it assures us that He is sovereign over every situation. His presence calms not only the external chaos but also the turmoil within our hearts.
Illustration:
A child caught in a thunderstorm clings to their parent, finding comfort in their presence despite the storm’s intensity. Similarly, we can cling to Jesus, knowing His power and love will sustain us through life’s fiercest storms.
Challenge:
When fear or anxiety arises this week, pause to pray and invite Jesus into your situation. Reflect on this verse and trust Him to bring peace to your heart and mind.
