Scripture: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” – Matthew 5:14
Devotional:
Jesus calls His followers the light of the world, tasked with shining His truth and love in a world darkened by sin. This light is not our own; it is a reflection of Christ in us. Just as a city on a hill cannot be hidden, our lives should visibly point others to Him.
Being a light means living with integrity, sharing the gospel, and demonstrating Christlike compassion. It is an intentional effort to influence others for the kingdom, drawing them to the hope found in Jesus.
Illustration:
A lighthouse standing firm during a storm guides ships safely to shore. In the same way, our faith can guide those around us, offering them safety and direction amid life’s challenges.
Challenge:
Consider how your actions and words reflect Christ this week. Look for an opportunity to shine His light through an act of kindness or by sharing your faith with someone in need of hope.
